The Lake Lady

When a blouse is so ladylike, I make the rest of the OOTD casual and comfy.

This blouse is the partner to the long mermaid skirt that was in a previous post. The blouse intrigued me the moment I cradled it in my arm as it’s the first one with flare sleeves and a kimono-esque design that I have in my closet. The sweet dreamy turquoise and pink mellowed my gangsta vibes as I strolled around the park soaking in the evening breeze.

This time though, I had the opportunity to climb the fat rocks that skirted the lake. I forgot there might be slithery things sleeping under the scattered rocks. Silly me but I'm still alive.

Anyway, let me talk about the outfit real quick.

I don’t know why I chose this skirt, but it could be because I wanted to anchor the ethereal beauty of the blouse with something starkly unfeeling and this skirt captured it somehow. And black added edge, so why the flying unicorn not. With the shoes, these boat style ones were comfy and stood in contrast with the feminine blouse that though seemed carefree, leaned on the dressy side. The bag with the metal things at the side further edged up the feel of this ensemble.

Outfit talk over, how is your day? What’s happening on your side?

I am down with the flu but I’m going to dance for a bit. This gets me out of the mild stupor that I get staring at the screen and I like that. I started randomly dancing by myself beginning of 2016 and it is one of the best gifts that I’ve given to my body, mind and spirit. I used to be quite the sloth in terms of moving my body but now, I’m honoring the temple that is my physical body by giving it life through dancing. You can attend a class for this, of course, but if you find you own company delights you, then I highly recommend doing it solo!

Photo sesh now begins:

Three new things about me you need to know because I’m telling you so.

1. I started eating black cherries and those things are so very thirst-quenching!

2. I fell in love with a red dragonfruit. I ate one and questioned why I’d been existing all this while without eating it. I’m talking about the one with a striking red flesh with black seeds. The color is eye-popping you’d think the taste is explosive. It is NOT. It has the most soothing, mild flowery taste ever and I love fruits with a mild taste like guava and honey dew. Anything too sweet, I pass it to my momma. Anything sour, I consume them!

3. I found a tree with loads of orange ladybugs on it! I wanted to get close to photograph them but after one flew pass my earholes with a loud bee-like buzzing, I decided not to be a bother. Okay, I admit, I got quite scared.

Okay, that’s it.

My exciting random content aside, how would you style a floral flare sleeved blouse like this? Be sure to share your thoughts down below – you know I love reading them.

A quote by Eckhart Tolle To end this entry:

“The quicker you are in attaching verbal or mental labels to things, people, or situations, the more shallow and lifeless your reality becomes, and the more deadened you become to reality, the miracle of life that continuously unfolds within and around you.”
