2017 Homecoming Dress Trends To Watch Out For

I share dress style trends for 2017 prom/homecoming season.

With the start of 2017, some of you have already started planning for their homecoming this year. Since the homecoming season will be in spring, there are a lot of new trends to be anticipated so I'll give a roundup of a few of my faves!

Where I am, it's been a while since I last attended a prom-like event so, I'm naturally curious about what's going on in other parts of the world. Seems like the prom is quite a major thing for those attending, I've selected a few trends worth considering if you're all about shining and slaying in dresses that express your current style flavor.

Ladies, here we go:

Pastel Colors

Spring Homecoming 2017 will be all about pastel colors for those mad about these barely-there hues. Pastels paired with metallic accessories are being anticipated by fashion designers all over the world. Light colors add on the beautiful spring atmosphere, while the metals add the glam to the overall look.

2017 will also be the year of vintage fashion. All the elements of vintage fashion such as tulle, lace and embellishments will be incorporated into homecoming gowns to add a new level of glamour. If you're intrigued, you can check out such chic homecoming dresses 2017 for sale.

Animal Prints

Animal prints have been loved and hated by everyone during the last couple of years. However, they can be seen resurfacing as a popular trend in the 2017. Models have been spotted rocking the animal prints all over the fashion ramp again. Animal prints can help you set a bold and confident impression about yourself, and add a wild and carefree look to your homecoming style personality.

Black Beauty

The non-color black will remain the forever popular choice in 2017 as well. Black gowns add a whole new level of classiness to your overall style personality. Girls pick black on their homecoming because surely, everybody quite slays in black with no effort at all. Other similar deep colors that look like black from afar include deep blue, dark purple and dark teal.

Slits and Cut-Outs

Homecoming dresses of 2017 will also be inspired by the popular media events such as MET Gala and Oscar owing to the spotlight cast on dresses by popular celebrities. Fashion in 2016 saw the use of sheer and see-through dresses to accentuate body curves. 2017 will see accentuation of curves through cut-outs and slits instead.

Floral Patterns

Another trend for 2017 homecoming dresses is floral patterns. Printed gowns will give a unique look to the wearer, and set her apart in the crowd. With spring in the season, printed gowns also complement the season. The non-color white is preferred for these floral gowns as a canvas but whatever the background is, blooms are where it's at.

Shimmer and Shine

Sparkly dresses are also coming back full swing this year. Pairing these dresses with solid colors can give a very stylish overall look to your dress. By wearing a sequined or embellished dress, you can shine like a princess and grab everyone’s attention in the blink of an eye.

If you are planning to attend a homecoming ball in 2017, check out the trends described above at the Prom Dress Shop. With hundreds of styles to choose from, there is something there for everyone.

Trends are forever changing, and are influenced by the fashion runways and celebrity choices. These trends are then trickled down into the coveted prom and homecoming dress style pool. At the end of the day, I would advise focusing less on following trends rigidly (use them as an inspo instead) and more about enjoying yourself through the night while expressing your own individual sense of fashion!

As always, a quote By Brennan Manning to end to touch your heart:

“Silent solitude makes true speech possible and personal. If I am not in touch with my own belovedness, then I cannot touch the sacredness of others. If I am estranged from myself, I am likewise a stranger to others.”
