A little heaty, chilly, angsty and sappy - all at the same time

The time I let my mid-years thoughts pour out of that ancient but preciously cracked cup.

Hi there, folks.

I'm back with another rambling post. I just wanted to mention that entering my mid years has proven to be quite the era. It's amazing how many new things I've learned about myself when it comes to bodily changes as I am quite the natural hawk in this matter. I am the type who prefers to NOT have a tiny cut, wherever on my body. Can't tolerate a tickle in the throat. Can't have too much heat. Can't absorb too much chill. Basically, I'm a real fussy pot.

But with age, you see, there's this certain grace many people talk about because well, things that used to be a certain way, isn't and one has to ultimately be okay with it... Hah! Like my hair, for example, how it used to be all melanin but now has progressed to have a sprinkling of eye-tickling silver. My impeccable eyesight is now forever humbled because it's not as easy to simply read prints in varying light exposures as I was able to do back in the olden days. I'm always a little clumsy and now though, I surprise myself with all kinds of acts of clumsiness that will happen with me in the equation for no logical reason at all.

I used to be able to recall a lot of details (and was so eager to share about it all)  and now there's a fuzzy shadow around the corner of my mind's memories that it can be both a blessing and a curse. I love waking up like a newborn baby unburdened by stale thoughts but then will gradually deteriorate fanatically when I have to get detailed and my mind isn't up to cooperating at that instant.

I have always loved solitude but nowadays, it's an essential part of my life. I love being in my solitude with nature. A lot of nature's divine quiet. I didn't care for crowds then but I have a total disdain for a herd of people anywhere at any given time now. I love that time brings us all closer to our very own true nature and even though as a lady, there's a lot of that peculiar hormonal changes going on underneath our rotating eyeballs and skull, one can also appreciate the ease of being able recede inside oneself and be alright whether the situation is perfect or not. The key thing is to float with what is. And there's always a gift to keep giving to yourself, ladies, the grace of understanding that we're not perfect and it's okay to lean into our wrinkled work-in-progress self.

How has the middle years treat you all? Do you feel even better as you grow older? Do you miss the youthful times when you can just eat junk and look splendid even after not a wink of sleep? Tell me why don't you!
